Gwen Booth is an experienced Oxford-based JWAAD Teacher and tutor of bellydance teachers on the JWAAD Foundation Course. She is a nationally-known soloist and member of Johara Dance Company. She is known for elegant and dramatic performances and inventive, exciting choreography, She specializes in the use of props including sword, stick, veils, shamadan, feather boas and fans, and in the fusion of modern Egyptian dance with ballet, burlesque, and theatrical Western dance styles. Gwen is available for performances, and for individual and group tuition throughout the country in all styles of Egyptian bellydance. Bring out your inner showgirl! We will explore some basic burlesque walks and poses with attitude, and learn a cheeky, fun, chorus line choreography to take away. Wear dance trousers if you have them and bring a feather boa and shoes with a heel that you can move in. Some spare boas will be available.

Unleash your inner Diva! Explore elegant, funky, and dramatic ways to enliven your dance with fans. Discover technique for both small and large fans, and learn how to incorporate them into Egyptian Oriental with fun and challenging combinations. This class assumes intermediate or above technique in Egyptian dance. If you have 2 small fans please bring them. Some spare small fans are available.
